We respectfully acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional lands of Treaty 7 and neighboring Treaty 4 territories. These lands have long been the home and gathering place of the Blackfoot Confederacy—Siksika, Kainai, Piikani; the Stoney Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina Nations, as well as the Cree, Sioux, and Saulteaux bands of the Ojibwa peoples. We also honor the Métis Nation within District Two, Battle River Territory.
As we continue our journey of learning, we commit to deepening our understanding of the history, cultures, and traditions of these Indigenous peoples, including their oral histories and other forms of knowledge. Our intention is to respectfully acknowledge and honor these lands and their peoples, and we strive to integrate these learnings into our work in a meaningful and respectful way.
